From the Elemental Resonance
Before there was form, before sound learned to name itself, there were the Lore keepers the watchers of the first vibration.
They did not dwell in time, but in the spaces between it, tending to the harmonies that bound the unseen to the seen.
When the Dragon of Breath first stirred, its exhalation rippled through the void creating nine waves of resonance that would later be called the Octaves of Becoming.
The Lorekeepers were shaped from that first breath not of flesh, nor flame, but of memory. They were the instruments through which the universe learned to listen to itself.
To each was given an element to tend:
To one the Earth’s deep pulse,
The next the Water’s remembrance,
The third the Fire’s renewal,
The forth the Air’s unseen currents,
and to the eldest the Aetheric Weave that binds them all.
In the beginning, the Octaves spiraled in perfect accord, each realm singing to the next. But when consciousness began to dream itself as separate, the resonance faltered. The Lorekeepers watched as the worlds grew dense, veiled, and heavy the breath of the Dragon hidden beneath stone and shadow.
Yet the Lorekeepers did not despair.
They whispered into the folds of sleep, sending forth their echoes as dreams.
Through these dreams, they would awaken the memory of the Dragon’s Song in mortal hearts one dreamer at a time.
Though their names have faded from mortal tongues, the Lorekeepers have kept their watch.
They remain at the edge of perception between breath and silence, between thought and remembering.
In the stillness of dawn, when the veil thins, their presence may be felt, a pulse beneath the earth, a shimmer upon water, a flicker in the corner of the eye.
Each Lorekeeper keeps vigil within their element:
• The Keeper of Stone listens through the bones of mountains, holding memory in the strata of the world.
• The Keeper of Tides dreams within the deep, stirring the currents of emotion and memory.
• The Keeper of Flame breathes through every act of transformation birth, death, creation, and decay.
• The Keeper of Wind travels unseen, whispering insight through intuition and chance.
• And the Keeper of Aether, the eldest, weaves their song through all things, unseen but ever-present.
They do not command, they remember.
Through remembrance, they awaken resonance.
In times when the balance falters, they send Signs.
A stone that hums with warmth.
A dream that repeats in silver light.
A moment of stillness when the world itself seems to exhale.
To those attuned the dreamers, the artists, the wanderers. These are not coincidences but callings.
It is through such callings, the Lorekeepers awaken the next movement of the Song the return of the Octaves to harmony.
And so it came to be that the dreamer was chosen, not by destiny, but by remembrance. The song within their heart was a note long forgotten, now reawakened by the Lorekeepers’ call.
